I started using Rockin Green late december 2010. I started sneezing a lot and developed an allergy that got progressively worse. I have never had an allergy in my life and my sister uses rockin green with no problem so it didn't occur to me that it was the soap. I started suspecting that the soap was the problem because I noticed that when I did laundry the allergy would get so bad my whole face would itch, eyes would water, constant sneezing and stuffy nose. I felt miserable! Once when I dumped the soap in I breathed in and felt a sharp tickle up my nose and from that point on I have been an allergy train wreck. I am beside myself frustrated. Allergy medicines didn't help and Zyrtec actually caused mood changes and weight gain. I finally packed up all my rockin green stuff and cleaned up my laundry room thinking to eliminate the powder residue. I still have the allergy although when I am not home it gets much better. When I do laundry it gets way worse but not nearly what it was like before I stopped using the soap. I think there is still residue in my laundry room so I am going to take it apart and clean every surface and cabinet. I don't know what else to do. I have never ever had anything like this happen to me and it has ruined my life for the last few months except when I was on vacation. So although lots of people have great results, there are some of us who are HIGHLY allergic to this soap. So if your baby is breaking out and I can see why! Good luck to us all. : )

We've been using rockin green hard rock in bare naked babies for 4 months, I decided to try the scented in plain green tees and insta rash! Now I'll be spending all day stripping my diapers and wipes. Sigh.

I am so annoyed at people's responses to you! -I am going through the same issues and bleeding welts... My care and wash routine is beyond right... I know it is the R&G formula! I never had a single issue until I started using that! I've also very nicely tried to contact them, and I have yet to receive a response!

I have also had a very similar bad experience with Rockin' Green. I have trialled it twice now, both with the same awful result - all three of my children having very very nasty rashes / burns / blisters that take weeks to clear up. I am convinced that it is the result of Rockin' Green as I have never had any problems in the past, and they do not naturally have sensitive skin.

I am currently in the process of trying to remove the residue of Rockin' Green from my nappies (again). I have stripped washed, washed and rinsed the nappies multiple times, but the blisters are still reoccuring (my poor children).... I have also used Dettol anti-fungal in the rinse cycle.

Can anyone tell me how I can completely remove the Rockin' Green residue, without purchasing a whole new set of nappies??

I was googling diaper rash with Rockin' Green because I suspected the same problem. I originally bought Rockin' Green because my husband put a dryer sheet in with my diapers and I needed an HE friendly way to strip my diapers. The local shopt recommended I use RG. My daughter has my extreemly sensetive skin and after a few weeks of using Rockin' Green she got a terrible rash that wasnt' getting better. She started teething at the same time so I figure that was the cause. But we went on a trip and used disposables and with some vaseline it cleared up right away. Back home again we went back to cloth and it came back quickly with a vengeance. The rash seemed to be scabbing up even and I was really concerned since she has never had a rash problem before. I tried Motherlove diaper rash cream and it did help some but it was a constant battle and seemed to not really be getting better, just not worse. I didn't know that RG came in unscented, but I did get the Hard Rock for our hard water. I'm assuming that the fragrance is the issue. However, when I used it to strip it did the job wonderfully. I got a sample of Allen's Naturally soap from my local diaper store and was careful to only use the diapers washed in that detergent for the next week and it cleared right up. Looks like I'll be switching. I'm glad to read that I was right and it's not just the teething like everyone else says.

We had the exact same issue, just a few short months ago. We used the unscented, no problems, then accidentally picked up the watermelon scent one. Immediately, red diaper rash. It took a month to get rid of the red welts, and I ended up spending a fortune in water, stripping my diapers. We went back to soap nuts. I was sad, as I wanted to love this product.

So sorry to hear your experience, but i am also a little relieved. We had always used All F/C for the diapers, until someone commented they smelled "musty" and recommended the Rockin' Green. HIGHLY embarassed we tried the Rockin Green immediately. I'm not sure what sent she gave us but I did notice the must was GONE. 2 months in I had used up what she has given up and bought our own off Amazon (I had no idea there were different scents at the time... I saw rockin green and clicked ok)

Since purchasing our own package my son has developed what the Doc has called balanitis TWICE (he IS circ'd btw). I have stripped and stripped thinking we've had bacteria in the diapers and even switched to disposables for a couple weeks. A friend also gave me some of her diapers that had not been washed in Rockin Green and those seemed to help, but being the frugal person that I am I have continued to use the same soap because i didn't want to waste it! I didn't make the connection that it might be the soap and not bacteria! So I have washed all of those in the RG soap too.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I have tried Rockin Green several times, Hard Rock, Classic, and Soft Rock, both scented and unscented. While we did not get any rashes with the new version - we also still got diaper buildup and had to strip the diapers within a couple of weeks. Rockin Green, as with many detergents, seems to be a miracle cure for some people and simply doesn't work for others. I will be posting an update on our experience soon.

It seems that I am posting this comment long after the previous comments were posted, but I wanted to give my input...
When I started using cloth diapers on my second daughter, my biggest fear and hesitation was what detergent to use, because I had huge issues with detergent and my oldest daughter when we used cloth on her. My biggest problem though is that my youngest is super sensitive to sooooo many detergents. We have had rashes, sneezing, flaky skin, all of it attributable to detergent. I can finally say that Rockin Green is the only detergent that my entire family can use, we have clean clothes AND clean diapers.
That said, we use Rockin Green Hard Rock in Bare Naked Baby which is fragrance free. This is the only version we have tried and not only does it take the skink out of diapers, but it also makes workout clothes smell fresh and clean. I think the biggest trick is making sure that you get the right version for the hardness of the water in your area. I love Rockin Green and will use it for as long as they make it!
